It started off rainy and overcast today but quickly turned into a beautiful walk in the sunshine through forests of eucalyptus trees… the smell and sights reminded me of Australia.

The markers are counting down and the inevitable fate of reaching Santiago is drawing closer. It was another 30 km day but I stopped often and enjoyed the journey.

I arrived in Melide in the mid afternoon and all the locals were working around the church square on a confetti type art decoration on the concrete. It looked terrific but I’m not sure exactly what festival it’s for? Only 50 km to Santiago.
