Day 71
Mile 981 to mile 1006, 25 miles
Cost: Camped, free
Today was a relatively easy day with lots of flat stretches, I can’t remember the last time there were flat stretches! We had to ford two streams so wet feet was the order of the day and at one point I also slipped over in mud, while trying to wash the mud off my legs! The wildflowers are getting more and more prominent with whole fields of striking colours and the mozzies are still relentless!
Dorothy Lake and Dorothy Lake Pass were both very scenic spots and we sat at the pass swatting mozzies and trying to eat snacks.
We passed the 1,000 mile mark today, only 1,650 more miles to go 🙂
Just as the three of us were looking for a mozzie-free place to camp (and walking further and further in the search) we came across Teflon, Shepherd & KC’s camp, the group was finally reunited 🙂
Congratulations on getting to mile 1000!

Wow. More than 1/3 of the way and closer to half way. So since you brought up toilet paper…. Is that a luxury item? Do you carry a roll or wipes? Just curious as I may do the JMT in a couple of years. 😋
