Hi Rob,
I’m literally writing a blog post right now about this! I promise it’s full of some helpful info too 🙂 I spent 6 nights in San Diego, 3 downtown in a hotel where I did all my resupply buying and sending, then 3 relaxing at Scout and Frodo’s house. I would probably recommend 3 days depending on what you want to do before starting, then at least one night with Scout and Frodo because they’re awesome and you’ll start the PCT feeling so much more relaxed after staying with them.
