  • Tokushima Sightseeing

I had a sleep in until 8am! Actually, I think I could have slept all day except that I felt the need to get out and do some sightseeing, so after breakfast off I went.

I walked the streets of Tokushima, tasted delicious foods from the department store basements, saw a concert of the Awa-Odori (the dance of the region), finally found some 88 temple pilgrimage postcards and then spent the rest of the afternoon planning how to get to Koyasan tomorrow. This involved numerous phone calls to taxi companies and tourist information offices, it wasn’t easy and involves waking up at 2am!
