It was my turn to wake the dorm at 5:45am with my alarm and I literally fell off the top bunk in my mummy sleeping bag in a panic to turn it off – it was plugged into a power point next to the bottom bunk!… Most people got up after this!

The forecast had said rain but luckily we got a sunny yet freezing cold day. We’d heard reports of snow further west so we were a bit worried about waking up to a snow covered track. The walk today was short and easy.

We got beds at the municipal albergue in a converted church for €5, showered and went out for a tapas lunch. The albergue had a great kitchen so we found the supermarket and bought ingredients for dinner. We had melon & jamon for our starter, spaghetti carbonara for our main and fresh strawberries for dessert. We had enough pasta to feed an army so we handed it out to everyone in the kitchen, it was a delicious dinner!
