- Day 27: As Paredes-Castromaior to Baamonde
- Distance: 34km
- Weather: Overcast and cooler
- Accommodation: Albergue de Peregrinos de Baamonde, €6
Not long after leaving, I catch up to James and we walk together for most of the day. I’m not a fan of having my photo taken, I prefer to be behind the camera, but James is quite the selfie master.

James took this mid-step!
There’s not a lot to look at on this stage so I’m grateful for the company. We stop in Vilalba and buy a couple of baguettes to takeaway, then devour them later while walking.

It’s a long day and we finally arrive in Baamonde just before 5pm. It’s the biggest municipal albergue on this Camino with 94 beds and it must be at least half-full when we check in. Sigrid arrives shortly after we do and it’s great to see her. The three of us head to a bar nearby for dinner and wine is eventually replaced with gin. We laugh and have a really nice time and just make it back to the albergue before the curfew.
